"Vitruvian Man" by Ben Campbell Dec. 19, 2010 $2.99 103722 words Sample 10%
Author bio:
Ben has enjoyed visiting small villages, towns and cities in 15 European countries, Canada and Mexico and the United States. He'd met hundreds of motivated as well as dull individuals, some were well educated, others boring, many were fascinating and a few repelling. He was interested in the soul's that were riveting with energy, intriguing family members that were contagion and svelte, the folks that were recklessly engaging and wildly dramatic. He's busy writing tough reality-fiction splashed with urban, ubiquitous, multi-layered adventures, all the while developing plots and characters that have guts and stamina, witticisms and strengths, conviction and unquenchable passion to live exciting lives. His novels singe with investigative reporting, strident photography and razer-sharp realism. His Monterey, California dig is where he's authored six adventure novels. Ben is currently researching and writing two more novels with locations in Washington DC and San Francisco, cities where he has lived and studied, where lines between reality & fiction can be seamless. There is dangerous stillness in his stories of discovery what the French call, "La Chasse pour l'aventure," The hunt for adventure. Please enjoy reading all of his novels. Give them to friends and relatives as everyday gifts.

I have always had a passion for true crime and autobiographies, so its with a little irony that i chose to pen a fictional piece for my first book. I can only credit Dan Brown and his word artistry for that! (The lost Symbol gave me the writing bug). I have in mind a trilogy of titles, albeit unrelated in their content. Word craft and wit play a big part in my life, so it is my intention to make the titles a bit playfull! I hope you enjoy my work and come back for more..feel free to friend request my facebook page and leave me feedback.

Join with me as I delve into this, the meaninglessness of belly-button fluff and the other great mysteries of our time!
11-11-11 by John Rachel 11-11-11 by John Rachel May 06, 2011 $6.99 85713 words Sample 10%
Author bio:
John D Rachel has a B. A. in Philosophy, has traveled extensively, is a songwriter and music producer, a left-of-left liberal, and looks somewhat younger than he is. Prompted by the trauma of graduating high school and having to leave his beloved city of Detroit to attend university, the development his social skills and world view were arrested at about age 18. This affliction figures prominently in all of his creative work. While writing "From Thailand With Love", he was living in Spain, Italy, Uganda, Kenya, Thailand, and Japan. He effectively was homeless but having a great time of it. His last permanent residence was Portland, Oregon where he had a state-of-the-art recording studio, music production house, and publishing company. He recorded and produced several artists in the Pacific Northwest, releasing and promoting their music on radio across the United States. In November of 2009, he completed his second novel, The Man Who Loved Too Much, written over ten months, as he lived in and traveled through Japan, China, Nepal, and India. It is mildly autobiographical. His next two novels, titled 11-11-11 and 12-12-12, are linked by characters and location. They constitute an eye-opening and mildly amusing, if nauseating journey into the heart of American ignorance, as they track the insular lives of sub-ordinary people in a fictional town located in northeastern Missouri. The clueless and basically powerless citizens of Pulnick find it nearly impossible to eke out a meaningful existence in a world plagued by stupidity, superstition, political manipulation, and other increasingly dangerous manifestations of human folly, including the latest paranoid rumors about the end of the world. As he completes these latest novels and the numerous short stories he always has in the works, the author is hopping around between Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan. The guy just can't seem to settle down.

Author bio:
About the Author Lee Emerick born July 1982, is an author based in Staffordshire, England. Father to Libbi and William, married to Alison Emerick Lee enjoys writing in the little spare time he has available. Keenly interested in the genres of Sci-Fi and Horror, Lee is looking to expand his horizons and move into the Crime/thriller genre with his latest work ‘The Mind of a Killer’. Background Born in Harlow, Essex, Lee moved to Leek, Staffordshire at the age of 4. Schooled at Leek High School then subsequently Leek College Lee has been in continuous professional employment since then. After several failed attempts at writing a book, Lee finally succeeded in 2009 when he released Super Nova. A book of the Sci-Fi genre, Lee took the inspiration from his favourite films and based the characters entirely on his friends. Please with the outcome of Super Nova, a sequel was soon to follow called Mechanical Jihad. Influenced by the Dune series Lee had so enjoyed it was written as a tribute to the series as well as to compliment Super Nova. Moving on from Sci-Fi, Lee entered the Horror genre with Extinction Theory in 2010. Please with the outcome and popularity with the book Lee then decided to take Horror a step further and enter the Post Apocalyptic sub genre of Horror. After publishing 20 Years After The Zombie Apocalypse and the success of strong sales and positive reviews, Lee quickly followed it with the sequel Survival After The Zombie Apocalypse which has also been very successful. Looking to explore other genres Lee is currently writing a book by the name of The Mind of a Killer which will be an entry into the Crime/Thriller genre. Also in the pipeline is a return to Sci-Fi but of a Post-Apocalyptic sub genre currently titled Solar Apocalypse which will explore the end of earth and the survivors left behind. Interests Genres of interest go without saying really, Sci-Fi, Horror and more recently crime. Zombies in particular hold my fascination! The Dune Series - to be fair it is just awesome. Looking after the kids (not always through choice!). Entertaining the wife (hard work at times). Science and technology Contact info@leeemerick.co.uk

As an urban child, my getaway from the noise and fast pace was escaping into the world of imagination. Is there any better place than books? My imaginary characters had everything I never could. I ran with them, changed the world, traveled across the magical unknown planets and waited for some better era to arrive. Today, I know one can change so little. But, reading the kind of fiction I write, one can recognize the present in the future, sense the loop which they plan to, with a smile, wrap around one's neck. One can make that crucial step not to be in the line while they wrap it around other people's necks. I want to show what the world might become if don't notice the traps on the road that are being placed by the ones who have that power. I'm taking you on my path that takes courage to face the imperfections of the world we're living in now and preparing you that it could be even worse if we do not expose it. I love challenges, do you?

Wie is Luc Vos? 'Time Out'. Een literaire ontmoeting van een 15-tal schrijvers die elk een sci-fi / thriller / spannend verhaal afgeleverd hebben, gebundeld in dit unieke project. Time Out verscheen in juli 2009. En nu heb ik een nieuwe stap genomen door mijn eerste stap te zetten in het e-publishen. 'De eenzame weg naar de hel' is nu te vinden in verschillende e-stores. Op naar de volgende... :-) Luc

28 Pages by Allen Mitchum 28 Pages by Allen Mitchum Oct. 22, 2011 $0.99 95072 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
Allen Mitchum is a practicing attorney living in the Washington, D.C. area. An avid reader of fiction from a young age, he has written creatively on and off for the past 20+ years. Fiction and non-fiction that involve history and domestic and international politics are of particular interests to the author. The idea for his first novel 28 Pages, was born out of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2011. The failure of the U.S. government to hold the primary supporters of the terrorists accountable, the Saudi Arabian government, and the U.S. government’s irresponsibility in protecting the Saudi Royal Family, provided an opportunity to combine Allen’s long burgeoning desire to write a commercial novel combined with controversial political themes. He set out to demonstrate through a work of fiction, though inspired by true events, the threats posed to the United States by the Saudis and their various allies. Five plus years later, 28 Pages is the result of that passionate goal. Allen is presently working on a second novel involving certain themes from 28 Pages. He also plans to create a series around one of the characters from 28 Pages. When not practicing law, writing or reading, Allen enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and traveling. Influences include authors J.R.R. Tolkien, Clive Cussler, Michael Crichton, and John Grisham, along with the Hardy Boys, filmmaker Sergio Leone, classicist Victor Davis Hanson and the television series South Park.

Of course, being of the insane writer clan, Jack isn't just happy with the penning of zombie fiction. Oh no, the nightmare does not end there. Robert Levin, a St. Louis native known as ‘Bob’ to his friends, earned his B.A. and M.S.W. from Washington University. While a post-grad at Washington University, he came perilously close to earning an M.F.A. in Creative Writing having studied with Stanley Elkin, Howard Nemerov, Jarvis Thurston, and the Distinguished Letters Gang. He has published a few magazine and newspaper articles, but the bits and pieces of writing fiction didn’t form a coherent picture for him until he read Mark Twain’s essay on Fenimore Cooper, and then the anvil of gestalt fell upon his head. A Brief History of Howard is his first novel. After a two-year stint in Los Angeles, he relocated to Atlanta where he now lives with his wife and children.

Author bio:
Julius Thompson grew up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, New York and attended Bushwick High School. The sixties in Brooklyn was an era that had a personality, a feel, and a life-force that changed a generation. Mr. Thompson felt this energy and experienced these fires of social change. After high school, Mr. Thompson spent the next four years riding the "A" train to Harlem, in upper Manhattan, to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the City College of New York. At CCNY, which was located just a few blocks from the famous Apollo Theater, Wednesday afternoons was hard on the undergraduates. The matinee performances of the major R&B groups of the times were more tempting than attending a boring college lecture. Most of the time Mr. Thompson succumbed to the temptation, but still earned a college degree from one of the best universities in the country. At CCNY, literature instructors like Prof. Thomas Tashiro, fueled the fire in him to become a writer! Brooklyn, New York and attended Mr. Thompson’s journey to compose a trilogy began in 1995. The fourteen year fictional journey of character Andy Michael Pilgrim from Brooklyn, to Philadelphia and finally Atlanta is now complete. In this pilgrimage, readers experience places that are filled with hopes, dreams, challenges and fears that make us human. The novels that make up the trilogy are A Brownstone in Brooklyn which was published in 2001, Philly Style and Philly Profile in 2007 and Ghost of Atlanta which will be published the first week of January 2011. Mr. Thompson received the Georgia Author of the Year nomination for Philly Style and Philly Profile, from the Georgia Writers Association, in 2007. Mr. Thompson is writing his fourth novel, Purple Phantoms, which is a story about the haunting of a mythical high school basketball team. Mr. Thompson is currently a Creative Writing/Publishing Instructor at Atlanta’s Evening at Emory’s Writers Studio.

A Child from the Wishing Well by Raymond Nickford A Child from the Wishing Well by Raymond Nickford Aug. 04, 2011 $1.20 94486 words Sample 5%
Author bio:
Raymond Nickford has said "To me, people are stranger than fiction and in many ways more fascinating." Perhaps this is what first led him to his degree in Philosophy and Psychology from the University College of North Wales and which has subsequently driven him to produce searching character studies in his collected stories "Twists in The Tale", novels and contributions to anthologies in the USA. Of his novel based in Cyprus, "Aristo's Family," Barbara Erskine, best selling author of "Lady of Hay" has commented on the "beautifully observed characters," the "intriguing and atmospheric scenes," and above all the suspense which made her "want to read on". Part Greek Cypriot, the author was raised amongst Greeks in England and has travelled extensively through Cyprus. He has particular admiration for the village people whose company and hospitality he has enjoyed so much in the Troodos Mountains. Though people may be stranger than fiction, still, souls - particularly troubled ones, the outsider, the lonely and any driven to extremity –have been indispensable for Raymond's paperback novels, "Aristo's Family," "Mister Kreasey's Demon" and "Twists in the Tale". Raymond believes that his teaching of English in colleges and as a private tutor visiting pupils from "shacks to mansions" and seeing the "absolutely delightful to the vaguely Little Lord Fauntleroy" has informed his latest literary thriller "A Child from the Wishing Well." This features an eerie music tutor, her young pupil Rosie and Rosie's paranoid and inept father, Gerard, who nevertheless yearns to mean more to his daughter. The E-book version of "A Child from the Wishing Well" is now published and available to buy. Candace Bowen - author of A Knight of Silence, has written: “Growing up in a suburb of Chicago, the first scary movie I remember seeing was the 1965 Bette Davis movie, The Nanny. To this day, that movie has always stuck with me as one of the great psychological thrillers of all time. For me, A Child from the Wishing Well, by Raymond Nickford, is reminiscent of that movie. Ruth, the eerie music tutor, and Gerard strap you in, and take you on a psychological thrill-ride to the very end.” Stephen Valentine - author of Nobody Rides for Free, comments: "The author gives great voice to his characters, describing well their idiosyncrasies. A good story must either go deep or wide, and with his background in psychology he goes deep within the human condition. For some adults, the ability to relate to a child does not come naturally, and requires enormous if not awkward effort. This is an often overlooked subject worth exploring." Raven Clark - author of The Shadowsword Saga says: "Raymond Nickford has a writing voice that has to be one of the most unique and intriguing I have come across. The story is both enjoyable and oddly chilling, all the more so for its apparent warmth. The pleasantness of Ruth and her liveliness should seem gentle, grandmotherly and appealing, a sweet old lady one could adore, but reading the trailer, what seems kindly suddenly turns sinister, her upbeat excitability oddly macabre. Each time she says lines like "Our Rosie," and speaks so excitedly, rather than hearing a pleasant old lady, I think of a bird screeching. Fingers down a blackboard. Will Gerard realize what he feels is not a symptom of his disease? And if not, will Heather uncover the truth and save Rosie before the hurricane that is Ruth sweeps her into oblivion?" Raymond confesses to a passion for plump, docile tabbies and is moved by the music and life of the composer Edward Elgar; his interest leading him each year to a cottage in the Malvern Hills and to the Three Choirs Festival. He is a member of the Elgar Society. He is currently working on another psychological suspense," Prey to Her Madonna". Here, the author says, "the intrigue moves between Madeira, an eerie French shrine, an English village and London".

Already facing prejudice in Lawton, Oklahoma because of the color of his skin and his peculiar abilities as an extremely-gifted genius, young Williams soon began facing death threats and sneak attacks from a secret society that transformed his elementary school into a battleground. And it all began at the tender age of five. Because of his paranormal abilities, the young Williams began working for secret societies where he trained with others who were also born with paranormal powers to become psychic bodyguards and psychic assassins. Through his work with these organizations, Mr. Williams saw experiments being done on people and animals; witnessed the torture of other human beings with peculiar abilities and developed an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of these secret societies. But even at that young age Mr. Williams didn’t believe in taking another’s person’s life and soon he was in a face-off with one of the agencies who wanted to control him and have him use his abilities to lie, steal and kill. They assigned armed men in black suits, recruited psychic assassins, and bribed gang members to capture or kill the child. But Mr. William’s martial art abilities and psychic powers would always manifest themselves to protect him and ensure his continued survival. Mr. Williams would continue to work as a psychic bodyguard for various agencies within the U.S. government and secular organizations where he protected some of the nation’s elites and their families until he was twenty-two years old. He then left to live a normal life. Still his defiance of the secret society may be the reason why Mr. Williams has encountered so much hardship with numerous failed attempts to land a steady job, make a living and live a normal life. I've been a professional writer and musician since the 1990's (well... a working muso much earlier than that), meaning my first horror novel was published in 1993. I've since had another five novels published in Australia, all of which were also distributed through the UK by Hinkler Publishers. One of my books, Missing Pieces, has been very well received in Germany and I've since written another novel, A Clean Kill, for that publisher. However, because of my focus on the success in Germany I don't currently have books in print in Australia, a situation I'm not concerned about with the growing prevalence of Ebooks. I live in the south west of Western Australia with my wife Lisa and two dogs. I write books, freelance articles on music and music production (like about studio gear and software) and I still occasionally get paid by local pubs and restaurants to sit in a corner, drink beer, play guitar and sing.
