Author bio:
William Forde was born in Ireland and currently lives in Haworth, West Yorkshire, England. He is the father of five children and the author of 28 published books and a musical play. He is unique in the field of contemporary children's authors through the challenging emotional issues and story themes he addresses, preferring to focus upon those emotions that children find most difficult to appropriately express. One of West Yorkshire's most popular children's authors, his books have been publicly read in over 2,000 Yorkshire school assemblies by over 800 famous names and celebrities from the realms of Royalty, Film, Stage, Screen, Politics, Church, Sport, etc. The late Princess Diana used to read his earlier books to her then young children, William and Harry and Nelson Mandela once telephoned him to praise an African story book he had written. Others who have supported his works have included three Princesses, three Prime Ministers, two Presidents and numerous Bishops of the realm.A former Chief Inspector of Schools for OFSTED described his writing to the press as 'High quality literature.' Forever at the forefront of change, at the age of 18 years, William became the youngest Youth Leader and Trade Union Shop Steward in Great Britain. In 1971, he founded Anger Management in Great Britain and freely gave his courses to the world. Within the next two years, Anger Management courses had mushroomed across the English-speaking world. During the mid-70's, he introduced Relaxation Training into H.M. Prisons and between 1970 and 1995, he worked in West Yorkshire as a Probation Officer specialising in Relaxation Training, Anger Management, Stress Management and Assertive Training Group Work. He retired early on the grounds of ill health in 1995 to further his writing career, which witnessed him working with the Minister of Youth and Culture in Jamaica to establish a trans-Atlantic pen-pal project between 30 primary schools in Falmouth, Jamaica and 30 primary schools in Yorkshire. William was awarded the MBE in the New Year's Honours List of 1995 for his services to West Yorkshire. He has never sought to materially profit from the publication of his books and has allowed all profit from their sales (approx £200,000) to be given to charity.

The author of the Ball Park Series, Al Cline, grew up in Middle Tennessee and Northern Ohio. He also spent time living in Pittsburgh Pa, Lynchburg, Va. and the Washington D.C area. Presently, he lives in a colorful part of California called San Bernardino. Shifts in habitat from one part of the country to another result in what Al calls "Perspective lending distance to the view!" So out of his migration and wacky experiences, the Ball Park series of short stories was born. The first collection in the series is "A Season of Misgiving" and is presented for your Holiday Reading Enjoyment! The stories are geared to appeal to readers of middle school age but, adult readers seem to like them too. Many of the important characters in series are introduced in "A Season of Misgiving" and allowed to strut and fret before getting their Holiday comeuppance. They will reappear in the ten additional volumes that are planned. Al's life experience and work background are continually brought to bear on all types of subject matter in the stories. He's been a salesman, security guard, mid level business executive, musician, teacher, magazine publisher, contract administrator, motorcycle courier, and radio news announcer to name a few places he has shown up for work. The Ball Park stories were first produced as live one-man-play events. Al created all the players with his crackly, whimsical and responsive voice. It is storytelling at it's best. A follow on project of talking books is planned for each of the volumes. Currently Al has a daily blog on facebook called Mz. Hackensack where some of the people from his stories can interact with readers. And yes, at one time, he did drive a school bus that was numbered 47 and he did drag race a fully loaded soft drink truck with an empty Bus #47 and lose. Please enjoy the stories! And above all, "Y'all come back now!"

The Christmas Pony by Michele Stegman The Christmas Pony by Michele Stegman Dec. 08, 2011 $0.99 1735 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
Michele Stegman has loved history all her life. When she was studying history in graduate school, one of her professors quipped that she put too much romance in her research papers. She decided to put in more romance and write historical romances. Her Fortune series is following the adventures of the Fortune family through piracy and war in the 1700’s. Conquest of the Heart, her upcoming book, takes place in England in 1067, just after the Norman Conquest. It is quite different from most books that are set during the Conquest. For one thing, her hero is not a big, brash Norman conqueror. He’s a Saxon. It’s the heroine who is the Norman. Her people conquered his country, now she must conquer his heart! Michele was never interested in writing contemporary novels. But one day she was driving along, thinking of nothing in particular, when the entire plot for Mr. Right’s Baby popped into her head. She couldn’t stop thinking about it and finally decided it was a book that had to be written. Michele lives her history every day. She lives in an 1840’s log cabin, and sleeps in a 200 year old bed with her very own hero, her husband, Ron. She spins, weaves, makes her own soap, and bakes her own bread and crackers. Two cats, Chopstix and 5, demand lots of petting, but her two daughters, Kira and Shana, are the delight of her life. Michele also dabbles in art, and is a member of the Southeastern Indiana Art Guild.

Hi folks. My name is J. Lee McPherson and I live in the southern part of Missouri. My hobby has been mostly singing and playing my guitar at local jam sessions as well as writing songs until encouraging words from my family uncovered in their eyes another talent of mine I didn't know I possessed. I've always liked putting words to music and my family saw something in the way I wrote so encouraged me to try my luck at writing books. Now when I'm not jamming with my friends I'm busy writing fiction novels. In my later years of life I decided to take my family's advice and to try my luck at writing. So in a short span of time I came up with 'The Shadow Dog of Jeremiah', a Christmas story called 'Bobba Long the Bowlegged Snowman', 'Stars of Ivondale' and another Christmas story called 'The Magic Snowball'. Later I wrote a science fiction novel called 'The Storm Shelter', another fiction novel called 'The Legend of Zinnia' and then 'Dream Tracker (The Beginning)'. Now I figure I've finally found my niche in life and I plan on writing as long as I can take the pictures from my mind and with a little imagination put them to words. All my books have been published to Smashwords and some can also be purchased in print. To see all the books that I've completed and that has been published go to my website at: htttp://www.jleemcpherson.com I will hopefully have more books in the near future. J. Lee McPherson

Sometimes your life takes a turn in a totally different direction. That is what happened to me. For years I worked as a customer service telephone rep for a health insurance company. I enjoyed helping people. Most were under health and financial pressures, and I was glad to be able to offer encouraging words and to attempt to resolve their issues easily; hoping to help make their day a little brighter. But I will admit after many years, I grew weary. One day sitting at my desk and feeling pretty burned out, I said a prayer, "Lord, when I no longer need to work here, I would like to do something fun. Well, little did I know what my loving God thought would be fun for me and what He had planned. I always knew I could express myself better in writing than orally but I never had the desire or a plan to write books. If you would like to know the whole story of how God worked in my life to change my direction and make me "an author" read "The Foreword" in I Thought You Had a Bigger Dream at www.readtheirstory.com. From that experience, my horizons widened. I was asked to write the story of the Cole family. better known as The Voices of Glory, (5th place winners of America's Got Talent in 2009) which is now a work in progress. Also, on the schedule, is the memoir of Tina Panos, the wife of an international evangelist, who went around the world herself sharing the Good News. So now I have come full circle, back to a little project I started for our grandchildren so they would understand the true meaning of Christmas. Our big God had his own big ideas and took my teaching outside our home and put it on the world-wide-web in the form of Melton Snow A Happy Heart Christmas. All I can say is, I was open to serving the Lord through serving a friend, and God has blessed me mightily, above all I could ask or think. I am so pleased to be able to honor God through telling the stories of His children and how He did BIG things in their lives. My husband, Ron and I live in Branson, Missouri, where we operate a business and serve as laborers for Christ through our local church. John 15:8-11 defines my assignment and my reward; that God may be glorified and that my joy be full. Primary Artwork provided by Bill Ferguson. See www.billferguson.net

Will He Be Home For Christmas? by K.L. Kelly Will He Be Home For Christmas? by K.L. Kelly Nov. 14, 2011 $4.95 1139 words Sample 20%

As an elementary school teacher, I have met so many wonderful individuals from such diverse backgrounds. I loved to celebrate our differences as well as our sameness! It was a great pleasure to see a child gain a new understanding of an unfamiliar subject. Seeing the world through a child's eyes is such a revelation! Teaching was a way for me to invest in my future, as well as our society's. I like for others to "Think Outside the Box!" Our military members and their families serve, sacrifice, endure and in turn, give us the freedom many may sometimes seem to take for granted. The military too has given new understanding to unfamiliar subjects. Their lives are very different than most. I hope those who serve know every day how much they matter and how they make a difference. They are educators as well and we could learn a lot from talking with them and sharing their stories. Their dedication and selflessness are appreciated, even though at times it seems they're not. Thank you all for your sacrifices.
